Introduction
Blow molded plastic pallets are the heavy-duty, double-sided option in the plastic pallet family. Made by inflating molten plastic inside a mold — similar to how plastic bottles are made — they produce a strong, one-piece hollow structure that excels in demanding, multi-trip applications.
How Blow Molding Works for Pallets
A tube of molten HDPE (called a parison) is extruded and clamped inside a two-part mold. Compressed air inflates the tube, forcing the plastic against the mold walls. The plastic cools against the water-cooled mold surface, and the finished pallet is ejected. The result is a hollow, double-walled structure with excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
